Four treatments, decided from Amazon's own data.
Domestic consumer
UK buyer without a VAT number. Standard, reduced or zero rate from the order's tax breakdown; simplified invoice rules for orders of £250 or less.
Domestic business
Amazon Business order or a buyer with a UK VAT registration: full VAT invoice with the buyer's VAT number and company name.
Marketplace-facilitated
Where Amazon collects and remits the VAT itself, the sale is recorded as a zero-rated deemed supply so it reaches Box 6 without inflating Box 1. You choose whether such orders are invoiced at all.
Export
Deliveries outside the UK are classified from the destination country and kept apart from domestic VAT.
Only what a VAT invoice legally needs. Nothing else.
You stay the controller of your buyers' data; Vupiy is your processor under Amazon's Tax Invoicing role and Data Protection Policy.
We receive, per dispatched order
Buyer name (or the recipient's name for a gift), the delivery address and, for business buyers, the company name, VAT registration number and purchase-order number. It goes on the invoice and the credit note, and nowhere else.
We never receive
Buyer email addresses, telephone numbers, billing addresses or payment details. We never contact your buyers, never combine data across sellers, and never use it for analytics or advertising.
Delivery addresses on simplified invoices (consumer orders of £250 or less) are deleted automatically no later than 30 days after estimated delivery. Identity on full VAT invoices is kept for the statutory six years and then anonymised. Data is encrypted at rest, isolated per company and never shared with third parties; HMRC receives VAT totals only.

Questions sellers ask first.
When is the invoice created?
When Amazon marks the order as dispatched. Pending and unshipped orders are tracked but not invoiced, so an order cancelled before dispatch never uses up an invoice number. The invoice is dated on the dispatch day, which is the VAT tax point for the sale.
What happens on a refund or a late cancellation?
Amazon's refund event becomes a credit note against the original invoice, with the VAT taken from the refund breakdown. An order cancelled after dispatch is treated the same way. The original invoice is never altered, as UK tax law requires.
Do the amounts match Seller Central?
Yes. Lines, delivery, gift wrap, promotions and tax come from Amazon's own price breakdown for the order, and the invoice total is checked against Amazon's order total before it is created. Settlement reports and the transaction feed are reconciled separately so fees and payouts line up.
Which buyer details does Vupiy receive, and for how long?
Only what a UK VAT invoice legally needs: name, delivery address and, for business buyers, company name and VAT number. No email, phone, billing address or payment details. Delivery addresses on simplified invoices are deleted within 30 days of estimated delivery; identity on full VAT invoices is kept for the statutory six years and then anonymised.
Why does Amazon ask me to re-authorise Vupiy?
Amazon authorisations expire after a year, and Amazon also asks for a fresh approval when it grants an app new permissions. Press Re-authorize on the Amazon card in Integrations, or use Reauthorize in Seller Central under Manage Your Apps; either way you land back in Vupiy with the same connection.
Can I disconnect?
Yes, at any time from Integrations. Vupiy revokes its access at Amazon within 24 hours and stops retrieving data. Invoices and credit notes already created stay in your records for as long as tax law requires.
